  2. Major dental services including root canals, tooth extractions, oral surgery, dentures, braces and orthodontics.

Before you enroll to the program, it is important to know if you are eligible for it or not. Since the program is also aimed for the families of the members of active duty, the program uses a sponsor system. The sponsor should still have at least one year of military service commitment. Metlife TRICARE Dental Program Price

The program uses two different approach when it comes to the cost. The first one is the standard monthly premium, which is based on the number of people covered (single vs family). The second pricing scheme is cost sharing, which basically means that the cost is split between you and Metlife in a certain percentage.

Meanwhile, those who choose to go with the cost sharing option will pay accordingly to the type of dental service they received. How much you pay will depend on the pay grade and your location. Typically they provide diagnostic, preventive and emergency services for free. You will pay 20% of the cost for sealants and basic restorative procedures. Endodontics, Periodontics and oral surgery will cost you either 30% or 40% of the total cost. Other advanced dental services costs are covered 50%.
